Snowgums Group has lodged (10 December 2018) an application to Cabonne Council seeking development consent for use of the land for food processing and a micro-brewery.
The Snowgums site is set high upon the upper slopes of Mt. Canobolas and closeby many cool-climate vineyards as well as a renowned region famous for fruit growing including particular wine grapes, apples and cherries.
Once formal development consent has been granted, Snowgums will establish a micro-brewery under the Canobolas Brewing brand and take further steps to commence sourcing regionally grown brewing inputs for release in mid to late 2019.
Elsewhere on the Snowgums Retreat site, the group is developing the land for use in the hosting rustic marquee weddings and events. It is thought that the Canobolas Brewing craft beer brand will be used to supply wedding guests and to develop further markets through inclusion into the region’s food and wine trails.
The development application seeks approval for a small beer tasting section plus a barn suitable for bulk wine storage and maturation.
Canobolas Brewing, once the beer tasting cellar door is in place, is handily on the food and wine trail, just near Printhie’s restaurant and cellar door and enroute to De Salis, Nashdale Lane and others.
Further information will be available once development consent is received.
